Louis Knoopdirector of Audit and ComplianceLou previously served as the Director of Partnership Administration and Accounting of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. With a career spanning over 35 years, Lou has extensive experience in controllership, accounting, and auditing functions. At the time of its merger with Price Waterhouse & Co., Lou held the position of Deputy National Controller at Coopers & Lybrand, LLP. Lou assumed responsibility for the successful consolidation and integration of the firms’ controllership functions. After the merger, Lou assumed the position of Director of Partnership Administration and Accounting and consolidated the reengineering of these functions. In this capacity, Lou directed PWC’s computerization project to develop a new comprehensive partner payroll and accounting system replacing the legacy firms’ systems. Lou served as a National Auditing Manager at Main Hurdman & Co. where he developed an in-house audit manual and co-authored the firm’s publication on how to report on a company’s system of internal control. During Lou’s tenure at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., Lou managed the audits of both multi-national and privately held companies and advised clients on accounting, tax and internal control matters. Lou received a BS degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics from St. John’s University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York. |
